Seven TouchPoint Partner Hospitals Recognized Nationally for Zero MRSA Infection Rates
Overview
TouchPoint Support Services is proud to celebrate seven client hospitals across Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Texas that have been recognized by Becker’s Hospital Review as among the 280 hospitals nationwide with the lowest MRSA infection rates – reporting zero methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) cases, according to the latest Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) data.
This recognition underscores the power of hospital infection prevention, patient safety, and environmental hygiene, areas where our healthcare and hospitality teams work tirelessly every day to make a measurable difference.
Excellence in Hospital Infection Prevention
The CMS Healthcare-Associated Infections-Hospital database, informed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), tracks how frequently patients contract infections such as MRSA during medical treatment. Achieving a standardized infection ratio of zero demonstrates that a hospital has maintained the highest standards of infection control, environmental cleanliness, and patient care.
Each of our seven recognized hospitals – serving communities in Elk Grove Village and Hoffman Estates, Illinois; Evansville, Indiana; Southfield, Novi, and Warren, Michigan; and Austin, Texas – embodies what’s possible when healthcare support services and clinical teams unite around a shared commitment to safety and operational excellence.
“This achievement is a powerful reflection of how our teams support hospital partners in maintaining the highest standards of safety, cleanliness, and patient experience,” said Mike Madigan, Division President, Environmental Services, TouchPoint. “It takes a culture of shared accountability between caregivers, clinical teams, and support services to achieve results like this. We’re incredibly proud to stand alongside our partners in this recognition.”
TouchPoint’s role in achieving these results extends beyond daily operations. Our teams partner with hospitals to deliver infection prevention programs, standardized cleaning protocols, and staff education initiatives that align with CDC guidelines and hospital accreditation standards.
These outstanding results highlight the impact of collaboration between healthcare and hospitality. By integrating rigorous infection control practices with compassionate service, TouchPoint and our hospital partners are helping to create healthier, safer healing environments nationwide.
