Touching on the Financial Impact of Support Services

Are support services overlooked in financial strategy?

Far too often, support services are overlooked. These expenses can account for 10 to 12% of a hospital’s operating budget. To overlook that is ignoring key efficiencies and opportunities amongst 10% of your budget.

How do you connect patient satisfaction and service quality to financial performance?

There is a tie between patient satisfaction, financial or economic investment into the services. However, that line can be broken. It can be broken through technology and innovations that provide our people with the tools that they need to provide the high level of patient satisfaction through delivering an exceptional hospitality experience.

How does aligning operational departments lead to measurable cost savings or improved outcomes?

Aligning the departments allow the silos to be broken down. It allows the team members to work together towards a common goal, and everyone’s common goal is to be able to provide a high level of hospital experience to our patients and our caregivers.

What do you believe truly moves the needle in the patient experience?

Hospitality without a doubt is the first thing that is going to move the patient experience.

How does TouchPoint maintain a balance between cost control and delivering quality service?

While we’re constantly asked to do more with less, it has got to be an innovation or technology improvement. It’s making sure that we’re taking those operations and streamlining as much of the back of the house work as possible to be able to allow our associates to be at the bedside, providing that high level of hospitality to our patients.
