Yolanda Walker:
So Robert, this award was really about communication, right? How our associates communicated, how they feel about working for us. What are your thoughts on what our associates are saying about how they feel about us?
Robert Tindell:
Yeah, so we’ve been very intentional on some of the things that you’ve helped roll out through the organization. We mentioned the shift process earlier where we’re putting TVs and being able to communicate directly to associates, hourly level associates in the building during lineup meetings, before shifts, after shifts, in break rooms. I think that’s the next level of it.
But I think winning Best Place to Work in Healthcare by Modern Healthcare, I think that’s looking in the past, not necessarily what we’re planning to do, but what we’ve done. And to me, it tells us that there’s a lot of trust for the organization. We do surveys to gauge how our associates feel about us.
Yolanda Walker:
Yes.
Robert Tindell:
And it’s one thing to do a survey, but I think what this is telling us is that they’re feeling heard because it’s turning back into action. We’re going back and communicating what we’ve heard from them, and what we intend to do about it, how we’re going to make their jobs, their roles better, how we’re going to increase communication and give them more information on a more regular basis, how we’re going to create career pathways.
Yolanda Walker:
That’s right.
Robert Tindell:
And let them know what the next step looks like for them and how we’re going to develop them along the way to be able to realize that next step. To me, it’s validating. Some of the things that we had going on the last year or two, it’s actually being realized.
Yolanda Walker:
Absolutely.
Robert Tindell:
And our associates are hearing it, they’re feeling it, and they’re supporting it. If they didn’t support what we’re doing, they wouldn’t be voting us the number one place to work in by Modern Healthcare.
